Data Deletion
How to disconnect ChannelRivet, remove Meta authorization, and request deletion of information associated with the ChannelRivet service.
Use the instructions below or email the public privacy contact. There is no fee for making a deletion request.
1. Disconnect ChannelRivet from Meta
- Sign in to the WordPress administrator for the WooCommerce store that uses ChannelRivet.
- Open the ChannelRivet for Meta connection/setup screen.
- Use Disconnect Meta to clear the store's active ChannelRivet Meta connection and selected Meta asset identifiers from the connector.
Disconnecting stops future authenticated ChannelRivet API activity from that store. It does not delete the merchant's WooCommerce products, orders, or Meta assets.
2. Remove ChannelRivet authorization in Meta
You can also remove ChannelRivet directly from the Apps and Websites / Business Integrations area of your Meta account. Meta's navigation labels can change, but the goal is to locate ChannelRivet among the apps or business integrations you authorized and choose the option to remove or revoke its access.
Revoking authorization at Meta prevents the associated access token from being used for future authorized requests.
3. Delete ChannelRivet plugin data from a WooCommerce store
Most connector operational data is stored on the merchant's own WordPress installation. Before deleting the plugin, a store administrator can enable the ChannelRivet setting labeled Delete ChannelRivet plugin data when the plugin is deleted. When that option is enabled and the plugin is deleted through WordPress, ChannelRivet removes its plugin tables, settings, diagnostics, event history, ChannelRivet product/order metadata, and Feed Guardian files from that WordPress site.
That cleanup does not delete the merchant's WooCommerce products or orders and does not delete assets or data held by Meta.
4. Request deletion of data held by ChannelRivet
To request deletion of information that ChannelRivet controls outside your own WordPress installation, email [email protected] with the subject ChannelRivet Data Deletion Request.
Please include enough information for us to locate the relevant records, such as:
- the email address associated with your ChannelRivet account or purchase;
- the WooCommerce store domain;
- your company or store name; and
- the Meta Business Portfolio ID, catalog ID, or similar non-secret identifier if it helps identify the connection.
Do not send passwords, Meta App Secrets, access tokens, payment card numbers, or other credentials.
5. What happens after a request
We will verify the request as reasonably necessary, delete or de-identify information that ChannelRivet controls and is not required to retain, and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may retain limited records when required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, dispute, or enforcement purposes.
6. Short-lived Meta OAuth data
The ChannelRivet Meta Connect broker is designed to minimize centralized credential retention. OAuth state expires after approximately 15 minutes. A successful Meta authorization is placed into an encrypted one-time handoff for approximately 5 minutes and is deleted when the originating WooCommerce site exchanges it or when it expires.
7. Data held by Meta or another third party
A ChannelRivet deletion request applies to data controlled by ChannelRivet. Information independently retained by Meta, WooCommerce store operators, hosting providers, payment providers, or other third parties is governed by those parties' policies and must be addressed with the relevant controller or provider.
8. Privacy policy
