Terms of Service
Terms governing use of the ChannelRivet website, software, hosted connection services, licenses, updates, and support.
By accessing ChannelRivet services, installing ChannelRivet software, or purchasing a ChannelRivet license, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of the ChannelRivet website, downloadable WordPress and WooCommerce software, hosted connection and authorization services, documentation, account features, updates, support, and related ChannelRivet services. If you use ChannelRivet on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service or install the software.
2. Business use and account responsibility
ChannelRivet is intended for merchants, agencies, developers, ecommerce operators, and other business users. You are responsible for the accuracy of information supplied through your account, safeguarding your WordPress, WooCommerce, ChannelRivet, Meta, Google, hosting, email, and other connected-service credentials, and ensuring that people acting through your accounts are authorized to do so.
You must not share passwords, access tokens, App Secrets, API secrets, or other credentials with unauthorized parties. ChannelRivet support will not ask you to send passwords, payment card numbers, Meta App Secrets, or access tokens by ordinary email.
3. ChannelRivet software and licenses
ChannelRivet software is licensed, not sold. Your right to install, activate, update, and use a particular ChannelRivet product is governed by the edition, plan, site allowance, subscription term, and other license conditions shown when you obtain or purchase that product.
You may make reasonable backup copies of software you are authorized to use. You may not resell, sublicense, rent, redistribute, publish, or provide ChannelRivet software or license credentials to third parties except where the applicable plan or written agreement expressly permits it.
Free editions may have different capabilities, support levels, limits, or update channels from paid editions. Features may also depend on WordPress, WooCommerce, a connected commerce channel, or another third-party service.
4. Hosted connection services
Some ChannelRivet products use services hosted by ChannelRivet to complete secure authorization, licensing, update delivery, diagnostics, account functions, or other connector workflows. For example, the Meta connector may use the ChannelRivet Meta Connect broker to initiate OAuth authorization and return an encrypted, short-lived handoff to the originating merchant site.
You authorize ChannelRivet to process the technical information reasonably necessary to provide the hosted function you choose to use. Our handling of personal and merchant information is described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Third-party platforms and services
ChannelRivet connects independent services such as WooCommerce and supported commerce, advertising, analytics, catalog, or social platforms. Those services are not controlled by ChannelRivet and remain subject to their own terms, policies, technical requirements, availability, permissions, review processes, quotas, and fees.
You are responsible for maintaining any third-party accounts, permissions, business assets, consents, notices, and legal bases required for your use of those services. ChannelRivet does not guarantee that a third party will approve an app, account, catalog, advertisement, product, event, feed, API request, or business asset.
6. Merchant data and customer information
You retain responsibility for the products, orders, customer information, events, identifiers, catalogs, advertising data, and other information you process through your store or connected services. You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to process and transmit that information through the ChannelRivet features you enable.
Where ChannelRivet provides consent-aware or privacy-related controls, those tools assist with implementation but do not replace your responsibility to determine and satisfy the privacy, consumer-protection, advertising, ecommerce, and data-protection requirements that apply to your business.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use ChannelRivet to violate law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts, bypass platform restrictions or access controls, transmit malware, interfere with service operation, abuse APIs, intentionally overload infrastructure, misrepresent authorization, or facilitate fraudulent or deceptive activity.
You may not attempt to obtain another merchant's credentials, tokens, private business assets, or non-public information through ChannelRivet.
8. Updates, changes, and compatibility
Commerce platforms and APIs change frequently. ChannelRivet may release fixes, security updates, compatibility changes, migrations, new features, deprecations, or other updates. We may change or discontinue features when necessary because of platform changes, security requirements, law, product development, or service viability.
You are responsible for maintaining supported versions of WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, ChannelRivet, and relevant dependencies and for maintaining appropriate backups before installing software or significant updates.
9. Availability and support
We work to make ChannelRivet reliable, observable, and repairable, but no software, network, API, hosting environment, or third-party platform is continuously error-free. Temporary interruptions, delayed jobs, API failures, platform outages, maintenance, and compatibility issues can occur.
Support scope, response expectations, and eligibility may vary by product or plan. Support does not include administration of third-party accounts or guarantees that an independent platform will approve or restore an account, asset, advertisement, feed, catalog, or API permission.
10. Fees, subscriptions, and taxes
Prices, billing intervals, site allowances, renewal terms, and included capabilities are presented at checkout or on the applicable product page. You authorize the payment method you choose to be charged for purchases and recurring renewals you approve. You are responsible for applicable taxes except where ChannelRivet is required to collect or remit them directly.
If automatic renewal applies to a purchase, you may cancel future renewal through the account or subscription controls made available to you. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not retroactively undo service or license periods already provided, except where required by law or expressly stated in an applicable refund policy.
11. Refunds
Any refund eligibility or product-specific guarantee displayed at checkout, on a product page, or in a separately published ChannelRivet refund policy applies in addition to your rights under applicable law. Where no separate refund term applies, contact [email protected] with the order information and issue so the request can be reviewed.
12. Intellectual property
ChannelRivet and its software, documentation, interfaces, branding, website content, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted by an applicable license or these terms, ChannelRivet and its licensors retain their rights in those materials.
Third-party names, trademarks, APIs, and services remain the property of their respective owners. References to Meta, Facebook, Instagram, Google, WooCommerce, WordPress, or other platforms describe interoperability and do not imply sponsorship or ownership by ChannelRivet.
13. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or suspend access to hosted ChannelRivet services when reasonably necessary to address a security incident, unlawful activity, abuse, fraud, material violation of these terms, nonpayment, technical risk, or a legal or platform requirement. Where practical, we will attempt to provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.
You may stop using ChannelRivet at any time. Disconnecting a third-party service or uninstalling a plugin may require additional steps to remove locally stored plugin data or authorization held by the third-party provider. See our Data Deletion instructions.
14. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChannelRivet is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free software, continuous compatibility with every third-party change, or any particular advertising, revenue, conversion, catalog, ranking, or business result.
Nothing in these terms excludes warranties, remedies, or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChannelRivet and its owners, affiliates, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill, data, or platform access arising from or related to the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, ChannelRivet's aggregate liability arising from the paid ChannelRivet service giving rise to the claim will not exceed the amount you paid for that service during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, except where a different limit is required by law.
16. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify ChannelRivet against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the service, your content or merchant data, your violation of third-party platform terms, or your violation of these terms or the rights of another person.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect product, platform, legal, security, or business changes. The date shown at the top identifies the most recent revision. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, account, product, or another reasonable channel.
